With With roots in Brooklyn, NY and eastern North Carolina, the tempo and grit of both the North and the South live within me. I grew up fast, free, and independent in New York City. Eventually I longed for space, trees, and rich soil-- as I have now in North Carolina.

I've written since I was eight years old. A reader once told me that if I didn't write, the blocked creative energy would lead to illness. So I guess part of my survival hinges on my writing.

I am married to a man who loves to have fun, and a grown daughter who has begun her own soul's journey.
